LMG was formed in June 2000 when a local hospital divested its physician practices. The physicians in the 13 practices that founded LMG desired to gain business advantages associated with a “strength in numbers” approach, while also maintaining autonomy with regard to daily decision-making in their practices.
The services provided by our MSO provide physicians with management support services that enable them to concentrate on the clinical aspects of their practices, while involving themselves in business decision-making processes to the extents they desire.
LMG purchases services and maintains contracts at the group level; therefore, the company is positioned to achieve economies of scale. Consequently, physicians are often able to realize enhanced financial performance with LMG.
Because of LMG’s highly sophisticated structure of management and clinical support services, LMG practices operate as a “group practice without walls.” LMG has significant experience integrating existing community practices to our corporate structure, as well as supporting new practice start-ups.
