Healthy Ever After Employee Wellness Program
In our evolution to excellence, it is LMG’s goal to develop a culture of health. One of the ways to achieve this is by implementing a corporate wellness program. The program will yield measurable results that will improve the overall health of our employees while controlling or reducing the cost of employee health claims. The program commenced in April 2012 and currently, over half of all offices are participating – impressive participation of 400 of 700 total employees. Each office has a Wellness Champion volunteer who disseminates information regarding the program, encourages and motivates their colleagues, and records vital statistics each month to measure our progress as a group. Wellness has to be a way of life and to be incorporated into a program must be enjoyable for members. This year’s wellness program includes a Zumba exercise class offered locally, complimentary health related education seminars, an on-line walking program. This multi-tiered approach is meant to keep participants engaged and offer some variation to keep people motivated. Each participant has received a health “passport” to document a weekly activity towards their health goals. Those employees who have their designated Wellness Champion stamp their passport every week for the remainder of the year will receive a reduced insurance premium in 2013 and enter a new year with knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm for personal health.
